Rollover Crash on the Cap City Freeway
Authorities in Sacramento are searching for a motorist who fled the scene of a crash on Sunday along the Cap City Freeway in the vicinity of El Camino Avenue. Sadly, an 18-year-old girl was catastrophically injured.
What Happened?
A man behind the wheel of a light-colored Buick Century lost control of his car and drove up onto the shoulder on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man overcorrected and struck the rear of a Toyota, making it veer to the left, across all lanes, and crash into the center median, officials with the CHP said.
Devastating Injuries
A female teenager inside the Toyota was thrown from the vehicle, which rolled over multiple times and landed on her. She was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center with devastating injuries from the waist down.
Rollover Accidents

However, manufactures may fail to implement simple improvements that could reduce fatalities or devastating injuries nearly in half. These improvements are typically inexpensive for the auto manufacturer to make.

Other Occupants Received Minor Injuries
Two other people in the Toyota were also transported to UC Davis. They suffered minor injuries as a result of the car accident.
Witnesses Said Hit and Run Motorist Left Accident Scene
Witnesses indicated to the CHP that the person driving the Buick left the scene of the crash. The hit and run driver was last spotted near Fulton and Marconi avenues.
