Car Crash Kills Orangevale Man
A 19-year-old resident of Orangevale was tragically killed in a two-car crash on Friday, June 3, 2016 at a busy Sacramento intersection.
The crash occurred just after 9:00 p.m. on a Friday at the intersection of Kenneth and Madison avenues.
What Happened?
A 2016 Kia Forte was in the process of turning left onto Kenneth from eastbound Madison Avenue. The Kia turned in front of a 2003 Ford F250 pickup which was traveling west on Madison Avenue, according to officials from the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The Ford crashed into the passenger sides of the Kia. The force of the impact caused the untimely death of the 19-year-old passenger inside, according to the CHP.
A 19-year-old from Rancho Cordova was driving the Kia. That individual sustained minor injuries. A 19-year-old from Gold River was riding as a passenger in the Kia. That individual suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.
A 35-year-old from Sacramento was driving the Ford pickup truck. That individual was transported to the hospital with what officers indicated were minor injuries.
What Caused the Collision?
Authorities did not reveal who was at fault in this collision.
It typically takes the investigating agency about 10 days to complete a traffic collision report.
No arrests have been made.
