Car Overturns at Lodi Lake

On Thursday morning, an elderly woman was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after she was involved in a car crash that, according to witnesses, sent her car into a flip in the air. Local authorities from the Lodi Police Department continue to investigate the incident but are able to report that the lady, in her mid-60s, escaped the horrifying incident with non-life-threatening injuries.
What Happened?
The crash happened in front of Lodi Lake on Turner Road. Preliminary reports led the investigating authorities to believe that the woman’s car crashed into a parked vehicle, which caused her 1994 Isuzu Trooper to flip onto its side. Lodi Police Officer Hettie Stillman reported that the woman had to be pulled out of the vehicle by emergency personnel upon their arrival to the scene of the accident.
Startled By A Loud Explosion of Sound
The parked car was a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The owner was just about to get into the lake for a day kayaking when she was startled by a loud explosion of sound which seemed to come from the direction from which she parked her car. She immediately ran over to the accident site to see what happened and noticed the overturned vehicle and the damage to her car.
After the crash, Lodi police attempted to warn the public of the possible traffic bottleneck by requesting that people to take a different route until the accident scene was completely cleared.
Woman Was Trapped Inside Her Vehicle
Witnesses at the scene immediately rushed over to the overturned car to help out. The loud bang captured the attention of the people visiting the lake and the people immediately responded by contacting authorities and checking that the lady in the overturned car was still responsive. There was a concern because the woman was trapped inside the vehicle and could not crawl out. Emergency personnel arrived quickly and were able to extract the lady from the car without issue.
