Intersection Collisions and Their Dangers

Intersections are the site of approximately 40 percent of all traffic accidents. The most frequently occurring types of a Carmichael intersection collisions include:

  • Head-on collisions: These accidents often happen when a vehicle attempts to make a left turn in front of an oncoming car or performs an illegal U-turn.
  • Rear-end crashes: Typically, these occur while one driver waits at an intersection for the light to change, and another driver collides into the back of their vehicle. The rear driver is often intoxicated, distracted, or speeding, preventing them from stopping in time.
  • Right-turn accidents: Drivers sometimes take risks when making a right-hand turn without a clear view of oncoming traffic. This might be due to foliage obstructing their view or other vehicles blocking their line of sight.
  • Malfunctioning traffic lights: When traffic lights are not working correctly, drivers may become confused about when to proceed. Others might ignore the right-of-way and try to force their way through the intersection, often leading to accidents.

Recovering Compensation Following a Carmichael Intersection Collision

If the other driver was negligent and caused your accident injuries, you can file a claim to recover compensation. Damages include the following:

  • Medical expenses that arise because of your accident injury can be recovered. This includes everything from your ambulance fee and hospitalization through to rehabilitation. If your accident injury is still ongoing at settlement, your lawyer will calculate further expenses and add them.
  • Wages that you lost because you were unable to work due to your injury are recoverable. If you can no longer work due to a permanent disability, you can collect your wages up to retirement age.
