Ceres Major Injury Accident
A Ceres major injury accident occurred on January 3 at the intersection of Service Road and Mitchell Road. The collision occurred shortly after 7:30 in the evening and involved a Nissan Sentra and Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda reportedly fled the scene on foot, leaving the five injured occupants of the Nissan behind. Three of the five injured parties were adults who sustained mild to moderate injuries in the crash. The other two, identified as two young brothers ages 8 and 9, suffered serious injuries. The two children were transported via air ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for treatment. Fortunately, the two young boys were listed in stable condition the following morning.
Investigation of the Ceres Major Injury Accident
Officers from the Ceres Police Department were called to the scene of the hit and run accident. Upon investigation, officials searched through the abandoned Honda and located a wallet with a driver’s license inside. Authorities went to the home of the suspect driver; however, he was not there. He was later tracked down at a local hospital where he was admitted for treatment of rib fractures and lacerations to his face and head. Moreover, the cause of the crash is unknown as an investigation is underway.
How to Recover Damages in a Hit and Run Accident
Suffering injuries in an auto accident can be a life-changing experience, especially when the incident involves a hit and run driver. Those who flee the scene of a crash often do so for driving on a suspended license, drunk driving, or lack of automobile insurance. In such cases, an individual may file a claim against their own uninsured/underinsured motorist policy to cover resultant losses. This type of insurance protection typically covers personal injury and wrongful death damages incurred in an accident with a driver with little to no auto insurance or hit and run drivers that remain unidentified.
