Chico Head-On Collision on Highway Causes Minor Trauma
A head-on collision in Chico occurred on June 10 between a Winnebago cab-over dually and a Toyota Solara sedan, resulting in minor trauma. The accident happened around 4:24 p.m. along northbound State Route 99 at Hedstrom Way, causing a major traffic backup. The two vehicles struck each other head-on, according to the incident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and caused a major rollover by the motorhome.
Motorhome Experiences Rollover in Head-On Collision
Damage to the motorhome was extensive following the head-on collision. No information was provided on whether fire department medics were called to the scene to assess trauma. The CHP traffic crash unit is investigating the accident to determine cause and fault.
Accidents Involving a Motorhome Rollover
Motorhome rollover accidents are particularly dangerous for occupants, as the weight and height of the vehicle can result in significant damage if it rolls over. The most common cause of motorhome rollovers is a driver losing control due to speeding or driving while distracted or impaired. Other causes may include tire blowouts, uneven terrain, and high winds.
Seeking Medical Attention After a Head-On Collision
If you are involved in any type of accident, it is important to seek medical attention right away, even if you feel okay. Although injuries might appear minor, delayed symptoms can end up resulting in hospitalization, high medical bills, and other losses. Being examined after an accident not only establishes a timeline in the event you want to seek damages but also allows the physician to make a baseline of your injuries and offer early treatment if symptoms should worsen later. Some injuries that can cause delayed symptoms days or even weeks later include:
- Cervical sprain or strain
- Traumatic brain injuries from concussions to hemorrhage
- Back and spinal problems, such as a slipped disk
- Abdominal trauma, such as internal bleeding or organ damage
Protecting Your Rights
If you are involved in a collision that was caused by someone else’s negligence, it is important to contact an experienced lawyer right away. Your attorney can help you protect your legal rights while also filing an insurance claim for any medical bills or other damages resulting from the accident.
Compensation Recovery in a Personal Injury Accident
An injury lawyer can also assist with obtaining compensation for lost wages as well as any other financial losses due to the crash by either negotiating for you with the at-fault party’s insurance company or taking the case to court. With their help, you can focus on recovering from your injuries while they handle all aspects of your case. By collecting compensation, it can help the injured person avoid the financial distress that often accompanies an injury accident.
