Citrus Heights Holiday Season Compassion
The Citrus Heights Police Department is pleased to announce it is kicking off its 7th Annual Holiday Referral Program.
Compassion is a Community Effort
Citrus Heights Police Department explains that this annual event brings together dozens of churches, business groups, schools and residents in an all-out effort to serve the less fortunate among us in the community. Donations of warm clothes, miscellaneous gifts, toys, household items and food is what is needed again this year. The Department relies heavily on the good will and charity of the community in order to pull off this event successfully.
Last Year’s Successful Event
Last year, city officials and the Citrus Heights Police Department helped to personally deliver many donated items. Some of those items included 65 holiday turkeys generously given by the citizens of Citrus Heights. The same day the holiday turkeys were delivered, thirteen students were given Walmart gift cards and taken on a shopping spree to Walmart as part of the Citrus Heights Police Department’s annual “Shop with a Cop” program.
What if I know of a family in need?
Between now and November 20, 2015, police officials will accept referral applications from members of the community who would like to nominate a family-in-need.
