What Can Cause a Motorcyclist to Crash Into a Car
There are many factors that can contribute to a motorcycle accident, and several of them are beyond the control of the rider. Following are some of the most common causes of motorcycle accidents other than error by the operator.
Road Hazards Can Lead to a Motorcyclist Fatality Accident
Potholes, debris, oil slicks and other road hazards can cause a rider to lose control of their bike and crash. When the government entity in charge of maintaining the roadway is at fault, they can be held liable for injuries and fatalities. The deadline for filing a claim against a government entity is six months, so getting help from an accident attorney may be advisable.
Defects Can Lead to a Motorcyclist Fatality Accident
Motorcycles are enjoyable to ride when they are functioning well. However, there are times when a defect can suddenly cause a dangerous accident, and the rider didn’t even know it was there. Retaining the motorcycle after a crash is important, so it can be examined for defects. If one is found, a product liability claim may be placed to recover damages. Some of the motorcycle defects that can lead to an accident are:
- Defective Tires
- Faulty Brakes
- Fuel system problems
- Defects in the design
- Suspension problems
Filing a Wrongful Death Claim
Losing a loved one is always a difficult and devastating experience. If your loved one was killed in a motorcycle accident that was caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be feeling overwhelmed, confused and angry. You may be wondering what you can do to hold the responsible party accountable and get justice for your loved one.
One option available to you is to file a wrongful death claim. In a wrongful death claim, the family of the deceased person seeks compensation from the individual or entity responsible for their loved one’s death. This compensation can help cover funeral and burial expenses, lost income and more.
Filing a wrongful death claim can be complicated, and it is important to seek the help of an experienced attorney. An attorney can investigate the accident, gather evidence and build a strong case. They can also handle all the legal paperwork and negotiations with the insurance company, so you can focus on your grieving process.
