Citrus Heights Pedestrian Killed
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has released the identity of the pedestrian killed in the city of Citrus Heights on Sunday, August 16, 2015.
The coroner’s office identifies the man as a 28 year old man from of Citrus Heights, California.
This motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident happened early Sunday morning at about 5:15 a.m. The location of the crash was in the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard at Old Auburn Road in Citrus Heights.
A Citrus Heights press release indicates that a pedestrian was walking from the east over to the west side of Old Auburn Road. He apparently failed to heed a “Don’t Walk” sign and was then hit by a car that was driving south on Sunrise Boulevard.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the vehicle who hit him has been cooperating with authorities to determine the exact cause of this car vs. pedestrian fatality.
Police reports in pedestrian cases are often incorrect. Many times the driver fails to recognize the person in the road in front of him because his or her attention is not on the road. Only a review by an experienced pedestrian accident lawyer with the help of an engineer expert, can tell who is truly at fault.
