Citrus Heights Pedestrian Master Plan
The City of Citrus Heights is in the beginning stage of
developing its first ever Master Plan for Pedestrians. This project is funded through the Community Based Transportation Planning Program Grant. It is administered by the California Department of Transportation.
What Is It?
Early in 2015, the City of Citrus Heights started the process of preparing the Master Plan for Pedestrians. The plan aims to build on the efforts the City has accomplished to improve walkability, bikeability and transit access for all citizens of Citrus Heights.
The goal is to achieve a plan that will create efficient, accessible, convenient and enjoyable ways for transit users, bicyclists and pedestrians to get to the places where they are employed, live or play.
What Will It Do?
The Plan seeks to pull together and review all existing recommendations and policies from documents like the City’s Walkability Survey, Bicycle Master Plan, Creek Corridor Trail Project and ADA Transition Plan.
Why is Community Input Important?
Participation and feedback from our community plays a crucial role in developing a successful Pedestrian Master Plan. You will have many opportunities to provide your feedback and ideas which will help guide the overall development of this Pedestrian Master Plan.
What is to be Gained?
A vast improvement to the existing pedestrian network through the Citrus Heights Community.
Why is a Plan so Important?
By a having a good plan, we are more competitive and in a better position to receive regional and state funding.
