Clearlake Area Rollover Crash Causes Trauma
On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at least one person suffered serious injuries during a Clearlake area rollover crash. California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that this accident happened on a rural roadway on the south side of the lake just off of Highway 29 and involved only a single car. Causal factors of the accident are under CHP investigation at this time.
Crash Details
According to CHP traffic reports, the crash was first reported at around 4:49 p.m. at the intersection of Seigler Canyon and Perini Roads just outside of the community of Lower Lake. Callers reported a vehicle overturned in the roadway on its roof on the southbound lane of Siegler Canyon.
Shortly after officers arrived at the scene, they reported that the vehicle’s engine had caught fire. The total number of people inside of the vehicle at the time of the accident has not been reported. However, reports from CHP indicated that at least one person was taken to the hospital by a Five Star ambulance.
Investigation
While investigators are attempting to determine what caused this crash to happen, no reports regarding suspected factors have been made. Single-vehicle auto accidents are very common and are frequently caused by multiple factors, including ones that drivers are unable to control. These kinds of factors can include issues with the roadway, defective or malfunctioning car parts, and more.
Rollover Accidents
When vehicles overturn during collisions, drivers and passengers have a higher risk than usual of suffering serious or even fatal trauma. This is largely due to the fact that car roofs are often poorly designed or made of weak materials and crush upon impact, leaving occupants of the vehicle with injuries that could have otherwise been avoided. In these cases, the company responsible for manufacturing the vehicle is often liable to pay for damages related to the crash.
Burn Injuries
Collisions involving car fires often involve burn injuries, which can be very painful and often involve an extremely difficult recovery process. In many cases, burn injury survivors have to undergo extensive medical treatment in order to regain their health, and many are left with permanent issues such as scarring or limited sensation and mobility.
Claiming the Compensation You Deserve
People who’ve been injured in car crashes can find themselves wondering how they will be able to afford their own recovery. This can be incredibly stressful. However, it’s often possible to get help. By getting in touch with a skilled injury attorney and filing a claim against at-fault parties and/or insurance companies, collision survivors frequently obtain full compensation for their personal and economic damages, affording them the financial stability they need to move forward with their lives.
