One Injured in Cottonwood Accident
Local officials reported that one person suffered injuries during a Cottonwood crash on Monday, February 24, 2020. According to information from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department (TCSD), the collision involved one vehicle, and only one person was involved. Medical officials at the accident scene reported that the injured man, a 20-year-old Cottonwood resident, was expected to recover from his trauma.
Crash Details
The collision took place in the very early morning at around 3:30 a.m. on Evergreen Road. The 20-year-old had been driving westbound when his vehicle traveled off-road for unknown reasons. After leaving the road, the vehicle continued west for a short distance before colliding with a tree and a wire fence.
TCSD sent emergency officials to the crash site directly after receiving a phone call notifying them about the incident. Upon reaching the site, responders determined that the driver had suffered injuries. Whether or not the man received hospital care has not been reported.
Investigation
According to officials, investigating possible accident causes is still being conducted. Single-vehicle crashes are very common and, in many cases, are caused by multiple factors. While some factors are caused by drivers, many lie outside driver control. These non-driver factors include defective car parts such as brakes or steering systems and dangerous or poorly designed roads. Depending on the factors involved, parties such as government entities or vehicle manufacturers may be liable to pay for damages from the crash.
Collisions in Shasta County
Shasta County is one of the most populous areas of California north of Sacramento, and there’s plenty of vehicle traffic on local roads every day. Unfortunately, this means that there are numerous vehicle accidents in the area. UC Berkeley statistics show that there were 9,071 traumatic collisions reported in Shasta County between 2008 and 2019. These accidents resulted in 12,323 injuries, tragically costing another 296 people their lives.
Recovering from an Accident Injury
When people are injured in car accidents, it can have a significant effect on their lives. Even minor injuries can make it difficult for people to engage in activities they enjoy or perform their jobs. Additionally, the recovery process can take weeks or even months and is often both physically painful and mentally stressful.
The recovery process is also often expensive. To ensure you have the necessary funds to pay for medical bills and cover your income loss, it’s essential to get help from a trusted attorney. Your attorney will be able to go over your case with you and help you file a personal injury claim against negligent parties and/or insurance companies. Filing an injury claim often helps crash survivors obtain full compensation for a wide range of damages. Find out how you can find an excellent attorney by watching this video:
