Crash Critically Injures Teen Near Turlock

Accident Details
A 19-year-old woman was driving her 2013 Kia Optima southbound along Geer Road in the vicinity of Golden State Boulevard at about 10:30 pm. For unknown reasons, the vehicle lost control through the intersection and overturned several times into a nearby shopping center. The Kia was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Emergency personnel responded to the area of the single vehicle accident. A medical evaluation was conducted on the young woman upon arrival. The woman appeared to have suffered critical injuries and was taken via air ambulance to an area hospital.
What Caused the Accident?
It is still too soon to determine a cause of the accident. The Major Accident Investigation Team of the Turlock Police Department has been appointed to handle the investigation. Authorities suspect that the motorist may have been attempting to conduct a turn at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to lose control. Reports indicated that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash due to gathered evidence at the scene. However, it is important to note that this is preliminary information and not all traffic reports are accurate pertaining to fault.
