Crash Fatally Injures Oregon Man Near Stanislaus County

What Happened?
An Oregon man was driving his 2013 Toyota northbound along Interstate 5 in the vicinity of the Orestimba Road undercrossing. Six vehicles came to a stop in the No. 1 lane of the highway due to traffic conditions, including the Oregon man’s Toyota. A Camarillo resident was behind the wheel of a 2001 Ford and allegedly approached stopped traffic at an unsafe rate of speed. The Ford then collided with the rear-end of the Toyota. The impact of the collision affected other vehicles, including a 2012 Nissan, a 2013 GMC, a 2015 Chevrolet, a 2017 Chevrolet and a 2017 Honda.
Nature of Injuries
The parties of the 2012 Nissan, 2015 Chevrolet and 2017 Chevrolet were uninjured in the car accident. The two occupants of the GMC complained of abdomen, arm, back and leg pain. The occupant of the Honda complained of back, head and neck pain. It is not yet known whether these three parties were hospitalized for their injuries.
Coroner Identifies Crash Victim
The Oregon man driving the Toyota suffered major injuries and was airlifted to the Doctors Medical Center were he later passed away. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 72-year-old Glenn Coutts of Jacksonville, Oregon.
