Crash Kills Modesto Woman
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident lawyer. A tragic automobile accident occurred in Modesto on the night of Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Unfortunately, one of the occupants in the involved vehicle passed away as a result of the collision.
What Happened?
A motorist was driving in their Toyota 4Runner SUV along Highway 99 in the vicinity of West Briggsmore Avenue in Modesto. For reasons that are not known, the motorist crashed into a parked tow truck on the shoulder of the freeway. The driver of the tow truck was loading a stalled vehicle onto the tow when it was struck. After the SUV collided into the tow truck, the SUV rolled until it reached a complete stop at the top of the embankment. The accident caused traffic to back up in the area as work crews worked fervently to clear the roadway.
What Types of Injuries?
According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was in the passenger seat of the SUV. The impact of the collision caused the woman to sustain fatal injuries. The condition of the SUV driver has not been announced at this time. Authorities also reported that there was a dog inside the cabin of the SUV at the time of the collision. Unfortunately, the dog has not been located according to officials.
