Injury Accident in Dixon
In Dixon, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, a collision involving at least one vehicle left an involved individual with moderate injuries.
Accident Details
According to preliminary reports from California Highway Patrol (CHP), the car crashed at around 3:37 P.M. along State Route 113 just south of Dixon between Casey and Jones Roads. CHP’s reports indicate that a small sedan had been traveling on the highway when, for reasons currently unknown, veered off of the roadway and struck a PG&E power pole.
CHP officers reported that the power pole was significantly damaged in the collision and recommended that the damaged pole be assessed as a priority.
Injuries
CHP’s information indicates that one party was injured during the collision and was transported by ambulance to the David Grant Medical Center in order to receive immediate medical attention for what officials described as moderate injuries.
The specific nature of the party’s injuries has not yet been reported. Whether or not any other parties were involved in the collision is also yet to be reported.
Cleanup
The sedan was totaled as a result of the collision and CHP called a flatbed tow truck in order to remove the wrecked vehicle from the roadway. No major traffic was caused on the rural road while officers and workers cleared the road for safe travel again.
As of 4:05 PM personnel from PGE were on-scene in order to repair the downed power line.
Investigation
At the time of reporting, CHP was still responding to this incident. CHP will continue investigations in order to determine what factors caused the collision. Possible collision factors include drunk driving, driving while distracted or fatigued, roadway defects, speeding, vehicle defects, and more.
