Dog, Man Killed in Corning Car Crash
A Corning car crash left one person and one dog with fatal injuries on Saturday, April 26, 2020. The decedent’s identity is reportedly being withheld by Tehama County authorities at this time. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred in the late afternoon on the very eastern edge of the city of Corning. Officers indicated that the crash involved one car and did not injure any other people. The collision remains under CHP investigation.
Collision Details
CHP stated that this crash occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Hall Road near the intersection of Easy Street. The decedent had been driving a 1990 Nissan pickup at an undetermined speed while heading south on Hall. For reasons that are not currently known, the Nissan drifted off the road and overturned, rolling multiple times before coming to a stop in a field on the western side of Hall Road. As the vehicle rolled, the driver, as well as several dogs, were ejected through windows.
Response
When responders arrived at the car accident scene, they discovered the driver with severe trauma. Sadly, the individual was declared deceased on-site. Additionally, one of the dogs also passed away on-scene. The conditions of the other dogs were not reported.
Investigation
