Driver Broadsides Modesto Police Car

I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto auto accident attorney. A vehicular collision involving a Modesto Police Department car and a Honda Accord took place on the afternoon of Monday, October 10, 2016. Thankfully, no one was severely injured in the accident.

What Happened?

An officer in a Modesto Police Department vehicle drove onto Tully Road after stopping at a stop sign on westbound Union Avenue. The driver’s side of the patrol vehicle was struck by a Honda Accord driving northbound on Union Avenue at approximately 2:40 pm.

What Types of Injuries?

The female motorist of the Honda and the officer sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals via ambulance. A passenger riding in the Honda was uninjured.

Road Closures

Authorities shut down Tully Road between Clevenger Drive and Standiford Avenue in order to perform a scene investigation.
