DUI Suspect Hits Grass Valley Officer
I’m Ed Smith, a Grass Valley auto accident attorney. An officer was injured and had to be air lifted to an area hospital on Monday, May 2, 2016. The suspect who was involved in the collision was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance.
What Happened?
California Highway Patrol Officer, Reaves Douglas, was rear-ended while on duty by a man suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Officer Douglas has worked for the California Highway Patrol for over 20 years.
The man who hit Officer Douglas was behind the wheel of a Toyota Rav 4. He was treated for minor injuries and then arrested.
Where Did the Rear-End Accident Occur?
The rear-end crash happened at an intersection along Grass Valley’s Highway 49 in the vicinity of Barr Meadows Road.
Was the CHP Officer Injured?
Yes. Officer Douglas sustained injuries described as minor to moderate. He was airlifted by a rescue helicopter to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
After undergoing multiple X-rays and an MRI Officer Douglas was released to go home last night.
