East Sacramento Attempted Kidnapping
East Sacramento Attempted Kidnapping
I’m Ed Smith, a personal injury lawyer serving East Sacramento. On the morning of Wednesday, March 16, 2016 two men tried to kidnap an East Sacramento girl as she walked to school, police said.
What Happened?
The teenage girl was on her way to Kit Carson Middle School at around 7:20 a.m. The location was reported as 45th and M Streets. Suddenly, two men in a dark-colored sedan drove up on the girl. An occupant in the passenger seat, who may have been armed, grabbed the girl, according to police.
Thankfully, neighbors heard an altercation. The girl screamed and residents came outside. By that time a woman had confronted the individuals causing them to speed off.
The police said the teen is OK. She and the witnesses have been interviewed. Police gave much praise to both the victim and the witness for knowing the right things to do in such a dangerous situation. The victim screamed and resisted the attempted abduction. The witness saw something was terribly wrong and approached to offer help.
Stockton Attempted Kidnapping
The East Sacramento attempted kidnapping is similar to a Stockton attempted kidnapping back in October of 2015. In the Stockton attempted abduction, the victim can be heard screaming on surveillance footage. The assailant(s) can also be seen on video fleeing the area after witnesses heard the girl’s cry for help.
