Elderly Man Killed in Car Crash
According to officials from the Napa area California Highway Patrol (CHP), a local man passed away during an auto accident on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. The collision took place in a rural area of Napa County and only involved one vehicle. According to reports, no other individuals suffered injuries as a result of the accident. The Napa County Sheriff’s Department has identified the decedent as Robert Bruner, a 73-year-old resident of Napa City. My condolences are sent out to Mr. Bruner’s loved ones while they are enduring this difficult time.
Crash Details
The accident happened on Dry Creek Road northwest of Napa City, and officers say they are unsure of exactly when it took place. Police first received a call at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday from someone who found a wrecked vehicle close to the intersection of Orchard Avenue. Police say that no other vehicles were appeared to be involved in the accident, but did not elaborate on how the collision happened.
Responders stated the driver of the vehicle had been ejected through a window during the accident. He was tragically declared deceased at the scene of the collision.
Investigation
CHP officials are looking into what the cause of this accident may have been. However, no reports regarding possible crash factors have been released so far. Solo-vehicle crashes are common, especially in rural areas, and are often caused by multiple factors. Common accident factors include defective car parts, medical emergencies, hazardous roads, reckless driving, and more.
Fatal Accident Damages
After fatal accidents, the family members of decedents are often faced with an intense period of grief. Learning to cope with your grief after suddenly losing the love and support of a person that you care about can be very difficult and usually takes time. However, many people aren’t able to focus on emotional healing when their loved one’s death causes a loss of income or other serious financial concerns.
For this reason, those whose lives were affected by a fatal accident are often able to file wrongful death claims in order to receive financial recompense for their tragic loss. Wrongful death claims filed against negligent parties, and insurance companies can help families recover lost income as well as pay for funeral expenses and losses related to emotional suffering.
For more information about the kinds of payments that can be recovered through wrongful death claims, take a look at this video. However, if you want specific information about your case, the best thing to do is to speak personally to a Napa wrongful death lawyer.
