This free event will be held at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center (Rm 117), with guest speaker Apryl Love. If you would like to learn about the techniques used to increase your awareness of emotions, feelings, and bodily sensations, then this may be the event for you! Learning about these interconnected set of skills can help improve your physical/mental health, attention, spatial awareness, and more.
Generating Business Ideas with Human-Centered Design

Do you feel like your kids are glued to a phone screen? You’re not alone – the average child spends roughly 6.5 hours per day looking at screens. Attend this event and learn about the methods we can use to empower our children to navigate through the digital world, safely and smartly. James Mckee Elementary School will be hosting this free screening in its multi-purpose (MP) room. After the movie, there will a short Q&A panel.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Community Training

Admission: Free
Another great event at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center (Rm 111), and this time individuals will be introduced to the warning signs and risk factors related to adolescent mental health problems. Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of the early intervention techniques and their significance, in addition to teaching attendees how they can reach out and help a child in crisis. The full eight training hours must be completed to be granted certification.
