Elk Grove Hoverboard Assault
I’m Ed Smith, an Elk Grove Personal Injury Lawyer. Hoverboards (electronic scooters) may be the hot new item on every kid’s Christmas wish list this year. Lately, we’ve been bombarded with news reports of hoverboards being a fire hazard. Appears they may be a favorite item for thieves to steal as well.
Two Teens from Elk Grove Robbed
We were saddened to hear about an Elk Grove hoverboard assault on two brothers back on December 3, 2015. The boys are from Elk Grove. They are 17 and 18-years-old. The boys were attempting to sell some hoverboards.

- The brothers met three potential buyers near an Elk Grove park.
- The location: 6300 block along Castro Verde Way
- One of the brothers was hit in the head with a baseball bat while showing an electronic scooter.
- Two hoverboards were stolen.
- Thieves fled the scene of the crime after the assault.
- The victim was hospitalized over night for his injuries.
Elk Grove Bicyclists Assaulted
In a similar article last month we told you about two Elk Grove bicyclists assaulted. Two Elk Grove teenagers became victims of bicycle thieves. These kids were out riding their bikes when thieves assaulted them to steal their bikes. One boy was punched in the face. The other child was struck on his back. These were two separate assaults occurring on different days at different locations in Elk Grove. In both incidents, thieves assaulted minor children and took off with their bicycles. For more information read the article above.
Are These Assaults Related?
Elk Grove Police Department is investigating the recent assaults in Elk Grove. Seems as if our kids cannot play outside safely. It also makes us wonder if these assaults are connected. We do not know if the victims were selling the hoverboards via Craigslist Sacramento or not. What ever the case may be, please tell everyone you know about the recent bicycle and hoverboard assaults. Remind your kids to not approach strangers.
One Attacker Surrenders in the Elk Grove Hoverboard Assault Case
On Thursday, December 17, 2015 one of the robbers in the Elk Grove Hoverboard assault turned himself into the Sacramento County Jail. Two others involved in the December 3rd Elk Grove Hoverboard assault remain at large. We are hopeful that they will turn themselves in just like the 18-year-old robber did on Thursday.
