Emergency Situation Over Rancho Cordova
I’m Ed Smith, a product liability lawyer. A medical helicopter had to make an emergency landing in a vacant field in Rancho Cordova on March 23, 2016.
What Happened?
The chopper started to smoke while transporting a small child to UC Davis Medical Center with burn injuries to the hands. The child was initially picked up in a rural area of Nevada. The medical helicopter was over the city of Rancho Cordova when the pilot decided to make an emergency landing. The pilot successfully landed the copter near an apartment complex and a vacant field. The helicopter made an emergency landing at 10424 Investment Circle, Rancho Cordova, California.
How is the Child?
A medic from Sacramento Metro Fire District transported the small patient to UC Davis Medical Center. Thankfully, the child is doing okay.
What Went Wrong with Helicopter?
The smoke was determined to be from a belt on an air conditioning fan, according to a helicopter mechanic.
