Eureka Area Motorcycle Accident Results in Major Injuries
On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, two people suffered major injuries in a Eureka area motorcycle accident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP), identified the injured individuals as a 39-year-old man from Rio Dell and a 40-year-old woman from McKinleyville. The accident involved one vehicle and happened late at night on a local highway. Police have indicated that the driver of the motorcycle has since been placed under arrest on DUI charges.

For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his motorcycle, and both individuals were ejected from the vehicle.

Updates on the conditions of the injured parties have not been reported by hospital staff.
Motorcycle Accident Injuries
Being injured during a motorcycle accident can be very serious, even if the crash is relatively minor. Motorcyclists don’t have airbags, seatbelts, or walls of steel to protect them. Because of this, it’s common for motorcycle drivers and passengers to suffer major trauma. Common motorcyclist injuries include:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Road rash
- Bone fractures
- Spinal cord injuries
- Lacerations
- Internal trauma
All of these injuries can have a huge impact on your life and often require extensive medical care, which can be very expensive. Paying hospital bills can be difficult, especially if the injury you suffered has affected your ability to earn an income.
Calling a Lawyer
The issues that people face after motorcycle accidents can leave them worried about how they will be able to move on with their lives. However, it’s often possible to obtain payments for the damages you’ve suffered through personal injury claims. The compensation available through these claims can be a vital part of regaining your wellbeing after being injured in an accident. Not only are collision survivors able to seek payments for medical expenses and lost income, but they are also often able to claim compensation for personal suffering, damaged property, and other losses.
However, many people are unsure of whether or not their case is right for an injury claim. Even if you aren’t sure that you have an actionable case, it’s very important to reach out to an experienced lawyer for advice. Most injury lawyers will gladly give you free advice over the phone so that you can make an informed decision about how to move forward with your case.
