Eureka Accident Sends One Person to the Hospital
On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, one person was sent to the hospital following a Eureka collision. The Eureka Police Department (EPD) reports that the accident happened in the late morning in the downtown area of the city and involved multiple vehicles. Medical officials have stated that the injured woman did not suffer life-threatening trauma, and the accident’s cause is under investigation at this time.
Accident Information
The collision occurred at around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of H and 7th Streets. According to reports, a blue sedan collided with a silver pickup. Individuals who reported the accident to police said that they heard tires screeching before the accident occurred, followed by a noisy crash. However, further information about the circumstances of this incident have not yet been reported.
After the collision was reported to EPD, responders rushed to the scene. At the site, a passenger in the blue sedan was determined to have been injured and trapped inside of the wrecked vehicle. Personnel from the Humboldt Bay Fire crew conducted an emergency extrication. After the woman was removed from the sedan, she was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a local hospital for treatment and screening for further trauma.
Investigation
As investigations of this accident are ongoing, police officers haven’t released a report confirming any causes. In many cases, double-vehicle accidents occur because of multiple factors. These factors frequently include things that lie outside of driver control like faulty tires, brakes, and steering systems as well as defective roads that have damaged pavement or inadequate signage.
Accident Injuries Can Worsen Over Time
After you’ve been involved in a car accident, your body is usually full of adrenaline, which blocks the sensation of pain. For this reason, many people walk away from car accidents only to realize they’ve been seriously injured hours later. Additionally, some injuries can take time to develop. Both spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries can develop over a period of weeks or months and, if left untreated, might lead to secondary injuries or major complications. Because of these issues, it’s always important to get medical attention as soon as you are able to following an accident.
Calling an Attorney
The injuries that people suffer in auto accidents can require a lot of medical care and treatments tend to be expensive. Paying for these treatments can be hard, especially for those that have suffered injuries that affect their ability to earn an income. In many cases, these financial issues leave crash survivors worried about how they’ll recover.
In these situations, it’s critical to contact a Eureka personal injury lawyer. An attorney can help you understand what payments may be available to you. In many cases, crash survivors are able to hold at-fault parties and/or insurers responsible for damages and can claim the full amount of payment they need to cover their financial and personal losses.
