Fairfield Community Events – December 2018
Fairfield is the largest city in Solano County and sits at the very edge of the Bay Area. While it is easy for residents to hop over Vallejo and take a ferry to San Francisco to see world-class entertainment and historical sites, those who are a part of the Fairfield community know that there is plenty to do right in their backyard. Fairfield is packed with exciting events and things to do year-round, and it isn’t hard to find an exciting event for you or your family. Some of the events taking place in Fairfield over the coming weeks that residents and visitors may be interested in attending are listed in the below article.
Lawler House Exhibit
Fairfield’s local, not-for-profit art venue, Lawler House Gallery, is celebrating its exhibit “Variations of Abstract” on Monday, December 10, 2018. The event begins at 12:00 p.m. and goes until 4:00. However, the exhibit is open throughout December and visitors can come and see unique, abstract art pieces that inspire, engage, connect, and challenge their perspectives any day during operating hours.
Admission to the gallery is free of charge and visitors are encouraged to visit the newly renovated gift shop so that they can purchase specialty items made by gallery members to give to their loved ones during the holidays. This event is hosted by the Fairfield Visual Arts Association, a non-profit community organization of Fairfield visual artists and friends of the arts.
Citizen Science Friday
Those who would like to learn more about the land around them are invited to come out to Citizen Science Friday with the Solano Land Trust. This event is a family-friendly outdoor experience for Fairfield residents to gain scientific knowledge of Solano’s ecosystem. The event takes place outdoors, and attendees should be ready to be active and outside in the sun for at least four hours while they record observation about local animals and plants, dig up soil samples, and more.
To attend the event, pre-registration is required two or more days in advance. To register, you can send an email to [email protected] or call (707) 709-9028. The meeting place and times are issued upon registration. All people over the age of 12 who are comfortable with physical exertion are welcome to attend. However, those under 18 must be accompanied by a legal adult.
Get The Rush
On Saturday, December 15, 2018, Rush Ranch is hosting its monthly “Get the Rush!” event. This free event is presented by the Solano Land Trust and takes place on Rush Ranch, a beautiful 2,070-acre open space area that offers exciting natural exploration opportunities for people of all ages. During the “Get the Rush!” event, families and individuals can participate in a series of fun activities such as visiting a traditional blacksmith shop or taking a docent-led walk along one of the United States’ best remaining brackish marshes.
The event is from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and requires no registration or admittance fee. The blacksmith shop is open regardless of weather, but some activities may be shut down because of rain or soil conditions. Directions to Rush Ranch are available here.

I’ve helped residents of Fairfield claim payments through settlements and verdicts for both wrongful death and serious personal injury cases since 1982.
I’m a Million Dollar Advocates Forum member. The members of this group are lawyers with a previous settlement or trial verdict that was worth more than 1,000,000 dollars.
