Vacaville Collision Fatally Injures Fairfield Man
A Fairfield man tragically lost his life during a Vacaville collision on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has since identified the decedent as 39-year-old Adam Stubbs. California Highway Patrol (CHP) has stated that the crash involved one car and that no other individuals were injured as a result of the incident. The collision remains under active CHP investigation.
Crash Details
Police reported that the collision happened at around 6:20 p.m. on Highway Interstate 80 just east of the off-ramp at Cherry Glen Road near Pena Adobe. Stubbs had been driving an Infiniti sedan westbound on the highway when his vehicle veered right for unknown reasons. Shortly after the vehicle left the road and entered the highway shoulder, it collided with a nearby tree.
Collision witnesses contacted CHP, who immediately sent response personnel to the scene. Emergency responders reported that they found Stubbs in his vehicle with critical trauma. He was sadly pronounced deceased at 6:37 p.m.
Investigation of Vacaville Collision
So far, officers involved in investigating this crash have not said whether or not they have identified any likely causal factors. Single-vehicle accidents can be caused by many different factors, and it can be difficult for police to determine exactly what happened when they are unable to get testimony from the drivers involved in the incident. Because of this, key evidence showing negligence, such as road defects or malfunctioning auto parts, can go overlooked during official investigations.
