Fairfield Men Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter
I’m Ed Smith, a Fairfield auto accident attorney. Two men from Fairfield appeared in Solano Superior Court on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, on charges of vehicular manslaughter dating back to a 2014 drag racing crash where a 38-year-old man from Vacaville was killed.
What Happened
The two young men, Lawan Harper, 26 and Ansheel Kumar, 21, were allegedly driving at a high rate of speed in an eastbound direction along Airbase Parkway in Fairfield. The incident took place on the night of February 25, 2014. Sadly, a deadly crash occurred ending the life of Quincy Jones. After a lengthy investigation, authorities determined the two male defendants were racing along Airbase Parkway and running stop lights at speeds in excess of 50 mph over the posted speed limit.
