Fatal Accident in South Redding
Authorities of the Shasta area California Highway Patrol (CHP) have reported that a major car accident happened in south Redding on Sunday, March 17, 2019. The crash left one person with fatal injuries. The fatally injured person has been identified as a 21-year-old Redding resident. However, the person’s full name has not been made available pending his family’s notification. The accident involved one vehicle and did not injure any other individuals. The collision remains under investigation by CHP investigators.
Crash Information
The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. according to CHP Sergeant Tim Hinkson. The 21-year-old man had been driving a BMW on China Gulch Drive when he approached a curve around a quarter mile to the west of the Canyon Road intersection on the south side of Redding. The driver apparently lost control of his vehicle while attempting to maneuver through a curve. After the driver lost control, the BMW drove off of the road and overturned. The car rolled until it struck a nearby tree and came to a stop. Further details about the crash have not been made available.
The crash was reported to CHP by a driver who noticed the wrecked vehicle on the side of the road. Sadly, upon arriving at the collision scene, officers found that the man had suffered fatal trauma during the crash.
Investigation
As CHP officers are looking into the collision, no suspected accident causes have been mentioned by investigators. When drivers lose control of their vehicles, it can happen because of a variety of reasons. These reasons include wet roads, pavement problems, medical issues, defective car parts, and more.
Contacting an Attorney
Learning that a person you care about has passed away is difficult, but can be even harder after a fatal accident. Families are often left in a state of shock and dealing with daily tasks like working, cleaning, and cooking can be hard to keep up with while processing grief. These emotional issues can make it difficult for people to pick up the phone and call a lawyer. However, the sooner that an attorney can start working on your case, the better he or she can ensure you receive the money that you deserve from the parties responsible for the fatal accident.
