Fatal Anderson Area Crash
A fatal Anderson area crash took place on Sunday, May 10, 2020. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that one woman lost her life as a result of the accident. The woman has been identified as a 60-year-old. However, Shasta County authorities are currently withholding her name. The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time.
Crash Information
The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Dersch Road near the Parkville Road intersection around two miles east of the city of Anderson. The woman had been driving a red 2016 Ford Taurus on Dersch Road when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle began to drift right. As the Taurus drifted, it eventually traveled off of the road and crashed into a nearby ditch located in a pasture.
Response
After the accident was reported, an emergency team was rushed to the crash scene. Upon arriving, responders located the vehicle and found that the driver had suffered severe injuries during the incident. The woman was placed on an ambulance and driven to the Mercy Medical Center for emergency treatment. Tragically, she could not recover from her injuries and was pronounced deceased around one hour after arriving at the hospital.
Investigation
As officers continue to investigate the crash, they have not mentioned what factors could have been involved. Single-vehicle accidents may only involve one car, but they can still be very complex and are often caused by multiple factors. Furthermore, many of these causes are factors that drivers do not have the ability to control, like defective car parts.
Investigating fatal accidents can be complicated, especially if none of the involved individuals can offer their testimony to investigators. When police are unable to interview an involved driver, it’s possible that they will overlook important evidence that could play a critical role in a wrongful death case. For this reason, it’s very important to reach out for help from an experienced Anderson wrongful death lawyer who can investigate the collision themselves.
Wrongful Death Damages
The presence of a loved one is something that can’t be replaced, and coping with this loss can be very difficult and often takes a long time. However, suddenly losing somebody in your life can also have a major financial impact. For many, losing somebody also means losing an important income source or access to necessary services like childcare. Facing these issues directly after experiencing a traumatic loss can feel overwhelming.
The best thing you can do to make sure and your family have financial stability after a fatal accident is to get in touch with a trustworthy wrongful death attorney with experience handling cases like yours. By working with an attorney, it’s often possible to claim compensation for both economic and personal losses related to fatal accidents. Furthermore, knowing that an experienced professional is taking care of your case can allow you to focus on what’s important – spending time with your loved ones and taking time to emotionally heal.
