Fatal Car Accident on Altamont Pass Road
According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal car accident occurred on Altamont Pass Road on Thursday, November 24, 2022. The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. and involved two vehicles, a Toyota Prius and a Honda Civic, officials said.

The two-vehicle collision occurred when one of the cars allegedly veered into the opposite traffic lane to overtake traffic and collided head-on with the other. The Toyota driver and their passenger, a 16-year-old, were hospitalized for minor to moderate injuries, CHP traffic officers reported.
The Honda driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Sadly, a passenger in the Civic, Sreeja Nagirimadugu, 30, of Fremont, suffered fatal injuries.
