Fatal Car Accident on Monument Boulevard
The Concord Police Department reported a fatal car accident on Monument Boulevard on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. The traffic collision occurred around 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Lacey Lane and Monument Boulevard, according to Concord PD.

A preliminary report by the Concord Police Department revealed that three vehicles were involved in a traffic collision at the 1500 block of Monument Blvd. The incident occurred right in front of the El Pollo Loco restaurant, officials said.
Authorities indicated that a car was exiting the parking lot for the restaurant when it was struck by another vehicle. The impact of the collision propelled the first vehicle out of the parking lot and into another car traveling in the opposite direction on Monument Boulevard, Concord PD reported.
Sadly, an 84-year-old man was declared deceased at the crash site. His identity has been withheld due to pending family notification. Monument Boulevard was shut down between Reganit Drive and Lacey Lane to allow officials to investigate. The area was reopened about four hours later.
