Fatal Collision Near Sutter Creek

I’m Ed Smith, an Ione wrongful death lawyer. A head-on accident took place south of Sutter Creek on Monday, July 24, 2017. Sadly, one victim suffered fatal injuries due to the crash.

My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of all those affected.

What Happened?

A head-on accident occurred along Highway 49 in the vicinity of Ridge Road at approximately 6:31 am. The number of vehicles involved was not released, however, one of the cars was identified as white in color.

Was Anybody Injured?

According to officials, at least one victim suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The identity of this victim has not yet been released by authorities.

What Caused the Collision?

The cause of the collision is not yet known by authorities, yet many potential causes such as distracted driving and impaired driving will always be investigated as a possible contributing factor. A Traffic Collision report generally takes from one to two weeks to be processed by investigators. Sometimes, a traffic report may contain errors pertaining to who is at fault. It is crucial, especially when a party has lost their life, to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer to investigate the scene of the accident and study the events leading up to the collision to properly pinpoint fault. An attorney can help those who have suffered serious injuries or have lost a loved one obtain fair compensation from a negligent motorist.

Head-On Collisions

A head-on collision generally involves the front ends of two vehicles colliding with one another while traveling in opposite directions. The most common causes of these crashes include drunk driving and texting and driving. Texting and driving is a comprehensive distraction that can impair a motorist’s cognitive, manual and visual abilities, which can be just as bad as drunk driving. Research has shown that drivers who text while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle are 23 times more likely to be involved in a collision than drivers who are not using their cell phones. For more details, contact an experienced personal injury lawyer.
