Fatal Farm Accident Near Denair
A fatal farm accident involving an 8-wheel tractor and a pickup truck occurred near the Denair area on Thursday, April 22, 2021. A report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) suggested that the incident occurred on Keyes Road at Downie Road at approximately 6:00 a.m.
Investigation of the Denair Fatal Farm Accident
A preliminary investigation by CHP traffic officials revealed that a man was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck westbound on Keyes Road. At the same time, a driver of a tractor reportedly exited a property along the side of the intersection. Investigators said the tractor driver, a 38-year-old Denair man, allegedly turned wide and partially entered the westbound lane of Keyes Road in the direct path of the Ford.
The left side of the Ford was struck by the left side of the 8-wheel tractor. The impact propelled the Ford, causing it to veer out of control and strike a telephone pole along the side of the intersection. Sadly, the Ford driver was declared deceased at the site of the farming accident. His identity has been withheld by county officials due to pending notification of family members.

Is There a Time Limit on Wrongful Death Lawsuits in California?
California law limits the amount of time surviving family members must take legal action against the person or entity responsible for the wrongful death of a loved one. If survivors fail to file a wrongful death lawsuit before the time limit has passed, the court may dismiss the case, and the family may lose the right to financial recovery.
The filing deadline for such cases is known as the statute of limitations.
