Fatal Head-On Collision on Avenue 7 Near Firebaugh
A fatal head-on collision was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on Avenue 7 near the Firebaugh area on the night of Thursday, October 28, 2021. Officials said the incident occurred at Avenue 7 ½ and Firebaugh Boulevard at approximately 7:00 p.m.

CHP traffic officers indicated in a preliminary report that the motor vehicle collision involved two vehicles described as a Mazda and a Ford. Authorities said the Ford driver suffered a leg fracture and was transported via air ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for immediate treatment. An update regarding their condition has not yet been released.
Sadly, the Mazda driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Officials have not yet released the name of the Mazda driver due to pending family notification. However, authorities said he was a 55-year-old man. Additional information on the fatal car accident in Madera County was not immediately provided by the CHP.
