A fatal head-on crash occurred early Thursday morning on January 30, on Highway 395 southeast of Susanville. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision involved a white SUV and a dark-colored truck in what was described as a devastating two-vehicle accident.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after receiving notification. One of the vehicles was on fire, prompting the fire department to request multiple ambulances and support for injured individuals. Both highway lanes were impacted, although the crash did not block the roadway. Air operations were also contacted to assist with the emergency response effort.
