Fatal Head-On Crash Near Stockton
I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton personal injury lawyer. A head-on crash involving three vehicles occurred in east Stockton on the afternoon of Sunday, August 13, 2017. The collision, sadly, injured five people and fatally injured one.

Accident Details
A Nissan Altima was traveling westbound along Highway 88 in the vicinity of Waterloo Road at about 2:30 pm. For unknown reasons, the Nissan entered the eastbound lane of travel and collided head-on with a GMC Sierra pickup truck. A Ford Taurus that was traveling behind the GMC crashed into the rear of the truck.
Was Anybody Injured?
The front passenger of the Nissan and the two occupants of the GMC all suffered major injuries resulting from the crash. All were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The two occupants of the Ford complained of pain. It is unknown whether they were treated at the scene and released or transported to a hospital. The motorist of the Nissan, unfortunately, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identity of the Nissan driver has not yet been released due to pending notification of next-of-kin.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the accident has not yet been decided. The Stockton office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is still investigating the crash. A Traffic Collision Report usually takes one to two weeks from the date of the accident to be processed. Traffic reports may sometimes be in error relating to fault.
