Woman Killed in Merced Car Accident
A woman was driving her vehicle with three passengers south of Los Banos during the nighttime hours of Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Sadly, she was involved in a fatal car crash.
We would like to send our condolences to the friends and family of the woman who passed away in this tragic crash. We also extend our prayers for a full recovery to the minor children seriously injured in this accident.
Accident Details
A Los Banos woman was driving her 2014 Dodge Charger eastbound along Cotton Gin Road in the vicinity of Holstein Road at approximately 10:30 pm. The woman allegedly conducted a left-turning movement and lost control of her vehicle. The Dodge overturned several times before coming to a rest in a nearby field.
Nature of Injuries
The severity of the auto accident required emergency personnel at the scene to conduct medical evaluations on each injured party. The front-seat passenger, a 28-year-old Dos Palos man, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital in Modesto. The two small children inside the Dodge, a 3-year-old girl, and 4-year-old boy, both suffered major injuries and were transported to the Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for injury treatment. The Dodge driver, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Identity of Victim
The Merced County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the Dodge driver as 25-year-old Vanessa Clarissa Robledo Pina of Los Banos.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
