Fatal Motorcycle Accident Near Elk Grove
A tragic accident involving a motorcyclist happened along Interstate 5 on the evening of Tuesday, August 9, 2016. The location of the accident was in the vicinity of Hood-Franklin Road near Elk Grove.
What Happened?
A man passed away after he was ejected off of his motorcycle and struck by another car along Interstate 5.
The incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. near the Hood-Franklin Road exit.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 51-year-old man was travelling north on Interstate 5 when he was involved in a crash. The force of the collision threw him from his motorcycle.
A Second Motorist Hit the Fallen Motorcyclist
As the second vehicle involved came upon the crash scene, the motorist braked and swerved in an attempt to avoid the wreckage and struck the driver of the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital, but sadly he passed away a short time later.
