Liability in Auto Part Defects and Hazardous Road Conditions
Sometimes, accidents occur due to defects in auto parts. When this happens, an auto product liability claim can be filed against the part’s manufacturer, maker, or other responsible parties. To pursue such a claim, retaining the vehicle is crucial so an engineer can inspect it to determine whether a defect caused the collision.
Similarly, government negligence can create dangerous road conditions contributing to single-vehicle accidents. Poor road maintenance poses driver risks, including unfilled potholes, debris removal failure, or unresolved flooding issues. Additionally, inadequate signage or lighting at critical intersections and roadways can exacerbate these hazards. An injury claim can be filed against the responsible government entity if an accident results from these conditions.
Filing a Claim Within the Statute of Limitations
California’s window to submit a claim against a government entity after a fatal Napa crash is limited to six months. Seeking assistance from a car accident lawyer can help ensure all necessary steps are taken in time.
