Fatal Pedestrian Accident Stockton
I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton pedestrian accident lawyer. An elderly man was walking along a popular street in Stockton during the morning hours of Tuesday, January 10, 2017. The man was struck by an oncoming car. Unfortunately, the man did not survive the pedestrian accident due to the grave nature of his injuries.
What Happened?
An elderly man was walking in front of the St. Joseph’s Medical Center along North California Street. A motorist was traveling southbound in his vehicle along California Street in the vicinity of Walnut Street. The vehicle entered the intersection with the green light. The elderly man was walking against a red light and the approaching vehicle could not avoid the man. The vehicle then crashed into the man, which caused him to suffer injuries.
Was He Okay?
The elderly man was identified as an 81-year-old man. The man passed away at the scene due to the fatal extent of his injuries. The name of the victim has not been released due to the pending notification to his family members.
What Caused the Accident?
It is still too soon to know what caused the accident. The motorist that crashed into the elderly pedestrian remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities. A St. Joseph’s Medical Center spokeswoman stated that the victim in this accident was not affiliated with the treatment center. The Stockton Police Department’s Traffic Unit is currently conducting an investigation on this tragic pedestrian accident.
