Franklin Boulevard Fatal Scooter Crash Involved Motor Vehicle

A fatal scooter crash occurred in Sacramento on September 4, where a woman succumbed to her injuries after being hit by a vehicle while riding her scooter. This tragic event marks the second deadly scooter accident in the city in under a week, where a first-year resident at UC Davis Medical Center died in a similar collision. The Sacramento Police Department reported a collision in the Valley Hi / North Laguna area near Franklin Boulevard and Cosumnes River Boulevard shortly after 6:15 p.m., near Cosumnes River College.

The injured woman was taken to a hospital but, unfortunately, later passed away, according to a spokesperson for the department. The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene of the fatal scooter crash and worked with investigators, who stated they did not suspect the motorist to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The location was temporarily closed to traffic while the major collision investigation unit and crime scene investigators examined the area. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the woman’s identity once her family has been notified.

An Accident Attorney Investigates Sacramento Fatal Collision

When an accident attorney examines a fatal scooter crash in Sacramento, they collect all pertinent evidence, such as police reports, eyewitness accounts, and photographs from the scene. They will scrutinize the vehicles, assess road conditions, and evaluate any environmental factors contributing to the crash. Moreover, the attorney will analyze medical records and autopsy findings to determine the severity of the injuries inflicted upon the deceased and the official cause of death, all of which are vital for establishing liability and seeking justice for the bereaved families.

Wrongful Death Claims and Recoverable Damages

In the heartbreaking event of losing a loved one in a Sacramento fatal collision due to another’s negligence or wrongful conduct, embarking on a claim can be a crucial step in pursuing justice and compensation. Such claims not only hold the accountable parties responsible but also provide crucial financial relief for the family members, assisting them in managing the challenges that arise from an unexpected loss.

Various damages may be recoverable, including expenses for burial and funeral services, lost wages and benefits that the deceased would have contributed, loss of household support, and damages linked to loss of companionship and emotional distress.
