Officers with the Brentwood Police Department (Brentwood PD) reported a fatal single-vehicle crash on Sunday, October 17, 2021. The traffic collision occurred around 1:40 a.m. at Bacchini Lane and Concord Avenue.

A preliminary investigation by Brentwood PD revealed that a car was headed eastbound on Concord Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway. The vehicle came to a rest after striking wood split-rail fencing.
The driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Sadly, the passenger, a 27-year-old Hayward woman, succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has been withheld by county officials due to pending family notification. Additional information on the fatal car accident was not immediately available as the case is under investigation by officials.
