Officials in Modesto reported a fatal single-vehicle crash in a dry creek embankment in Modesto. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 18, 2023, near Coffee Road and Scenic Drive at approximately 11:00 a.m.

A preliminary release by the Modesto Police Department revealed that a gray pickup truck was located crashed into a tree, over an embankment, and with two occupants pinned inside. It took crews from Modesto Fire over an hour to stabilize the truck and remove the trapped occupants.
The pickup driver, a 22-year-old woman, was found alert and conscious, according to Modesto PD. Sadly, the passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was declared deceased at the crash site. Both parties recently moved to Stanislaus County, according to officials.
