A fatal truck accident occurred on Jensen Avenue and De Wolf Avenue on the morning of Monday, July 11, 2022. The incident took place in rural Fresno County at approximately 3:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials revealed in a preliminary report that a 24-year-old man from Corcoran was driving a big rig eastbound on Jensen Avenue. For unknown reasons, the semi-truck was allegedly involved in a collision with a man riding his bicycle in the area. The cyclist was propelled off his bike and onto the road.
Sadly, the cyclist, 33-year-old Alfonso Chavez of Sanger, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, CHP traffic officers reported. Additional information on the fatal truck crash was not immediately available.
