Auburn Plane Crash Kills Father and Son
Tragedy struck on Friday, January 24, 2020, when a father and son lost their lives during an Auburn plane crash. The decedents were identified by officials of Placer County as Anthony Lawrence Wright Sr. and Jr., ages 80 and 55, respectively. The pair were both reportedly residents of the community of Meadow Vista. In addition to the decedents, one more person suffered injuries during the incident. My condolences are sent to the grieving Wright family during this difficult time.
Accident Details
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers who assisted with responding to the crash stated that the accident happened just before 10:00 a.m. in a rural area of Placer County around one mile away from the Auburn Municipal Airport. The three men had been flying in a single-engine Stinson Vultee V-77 that went down for unknown reasons, crash landing on property near the Black Oak Golf Course off of Dry Creek Road.
Emergency officials were immediately dispatched to the scene after the plane went down. When responders arrived, they reported that one of the plane passengers had died while another was critically injured and a third was expected to survive. Tragically, the second decedent passed away shortly after at the accident location.
Investigation
An investigation into possible causes of this terrible accident is being conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board as well as the Federal Aviation Administration. So far, neither agency has reported any suspected factors.
Coping After Fatal Accidents
Families who lose somebody during a sudden accident are often devastated and experience intense grief. The initial stages of grief can be overwhelming, and it’s common for people to feel like they are in a state of shock. During this time, it is very important to seek out the support of the people you love and to take the steps you need to process your grief. However, many people are also left with serious financial difficulties after fatal accidents and are unable to focus completely on their wellbeing.
Our loved ones help us in many ways and losing somebody can mean losing a source of income that your household needs, especially if the decedent was the main earner in your family. Furthermore, paying for medical bills related to accidents on top of funeral expenses and other costs can be very hard.
These concerns can seem dire, but families are often able to get help covering their expenses by filing a wrongful death claim. With the help of an expert attorney, grieving families are often able to claim payments from negligent parties in order to have the financial security they deserve during a very difficult time.
Finding The Right Lawyer
Often, people are hesitant to reach out for help from an attorney because they don’t know how to find one that they know they can trust with such an important case. While it’s certainly very important to have a compassionate, skilled, and experienced lawyer, it doesn’t need to be difficult to find one.
