Delivery Truck Collisions
A FedEx truck collision poses significant dangers to those in smaller vehicles. With drivers delivering an immense number of packages, overwork and fatigue become common problems. Some behaviors that frequently lead to injury accidents include:
- Violation of traffic rules: FedEx drivers may engage in speeding, running red lights, or other road infractions.
- Overturning trucks: There is a risk of a FedEx truck overturning and spilling its load onto the roadway.
- Company pressure: The demand to deliver a high volume of packages daily can result in accidents.
- Substance abuse: Drugs such as alcohol or amphetamines may be present in the truck driver’s system.
- Poorly loaded cargo: Improperly loaded cargo can cause an imbalance leading to a rollover.
- Lack of maintenance: Accidents may stem from poor maintenance, such as worn tires or faulty brakes.
- Sleep deprivation: Drivers may suffer from sleep deprivation or exceed the allowed driving hours, which can lead to drowsiness or falling asleep at the wheel.
- Inadequate markings: If the truck’s markings are not visible at night, it can lead to collisions.
- Dangerous driving: Negligent behaviors such as dangerous passing or failing to yield can contribute to accidents.
How a Truck Accident Lawyer Can Help in a FedEx Crash
Following a truck accident, it is crucial to retain a lawyer experienced in handling such injury cases. Many people are unaware of the significant impact a personal injury attorney can have on their case. Consequently, they may believe that their insurance company will manage the commercial truck accident claim or that they can handle it independently.
Unfortunately, failure to hire a FedEx truck accident lawyer can result in losing much of the personal injury compensation to which they may be entitled. In addition, they work on a contingency basis, which means you owe them nothing until your case is successfully settled. When you hire an injury lawyer, they will work hard to recover the compensation you deserve, will keep you informed of your case’s progress and will protect your rights.
