A commercial trucking accident involving a FedEx delivery truck blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 99. The crash occurred at Dillard Road, just south of the City of Elk Grove.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. January 19, 2016. Both directions of Highway 99 were affected. The help of Hazmat teams were called in to clean up an apparent spillage of fuel on the highway.
Freeway signs alerting drivers of the accident were activated as far back as Stockton. Motorists were advised to exit at Twin Cities Road to avoid the crash. Motorists were rerouted west to Bruceville Road.
The crash tied up the freeway until about 3:30 p.m.
California Highway Patrol Performing Investigation
CHP indicated driver of Federal Express truck sustained minor injuries in this accident. Fed Ex driver is cooperating with CHP in this investigation.
