First Day of Fall
First Day of Fall
I’m Ed Smith, a Benicia auto accident attorney. Temperatures may still feel nice and warm outside but today we usher in the first day of fall.
Autumnal Equnox
September 22 is the autumnal equinox. Its the time of year when the sun crosses over the celestial equator. The celestial equator is the imaginary line up in the sky which corresponds to planet earth’s equator. The autumnal equinox – also referred to as the September or southward equinox – takes place between September 21st and 24th each year.
Sun Rises – Sun Sets so Beautifully
On the equinox, our sun rises directly in the east and it sets directly in the west. Its location is above the equator. It beautifully illuminates the Earth from pole to pole. Before the autumnal equinox season, the sun rises and sets farther to the north; then it shifts more to the south.
First Day of Fall North of the Equator
The autumnal equinox marks the first day of fall for those residing in the area north of the equator. Today it’s the first day of spring in the southern portion of the world.
What Time Will Fall Officially Start?
The start of fall, the autumnal equinox will technically arrive at 7:21 a.m. in California on Thursday.
What Will The Days Be Like Now?
After the autumnal equinox – days for people in the Northern Hemisphere will get shorter until the arrival of the winter solstice in December. The Edward A Smith Law Offices wish you and your family a beautiful fall season.
